Honoree: Charissa Lopes
Honored by: Blind Children’s Learning Center
Cause Area: Education
Blind Children’s Learning Center has served Charissa’s 7-year-old son, Mason, since he was a baby. And for just as long, Charissa has prioritized giving back to Blind Children’s Learning Center. Charissa leads the Center’s Parent Teacher Organization, keeping parents informed and creating family events. Simply put, she is part of the BCLC family and always will be. Her passion not only benefits her son, but the children he learns and grows alongside. Recently, she stepped up as a Mentor to teams participating in the 14th Annual Destination Independence 5K Walk. As such, Charissa is bringing her community together to create rich, positive futures for children with visual impairments.
